Lana Đurđek (Zagreb, 1999) is a visual artist from Croatia whose practice mostly revolves around photography and text. She has a BFA in New Media Art from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb and an MFA in Photography from HDK Valand in Gothenburg. She has participated in various group and school exhibitions in Zagreb and Gothenburg. Lana is an active member of the Croatian Association of Artists from 2021. In 2021 she participated in a one-month residency ‘(De)konstrukcija slike’ at Hafenkombinat in Leipzig, and a five month residency at Cite Internationale Des Arts in Paris in 2025. She is currently living and working in Zagreb, Croatia.
Lana’s practice is driven by her constant fascination and curiosity for the things that surround her. She uses the camera and the photography medium as a tool through which she sees, observes and experiences reality. Through her artistic practice, she rationalizes the details, relationships, structures and rhythms of everyday life and finds new ways to express her perspective.
By exchanging documentary and staged approach, she examines the means in which she builds and creates her interaction with the world. Even though all of her projects start from a very personal standpoint, she creates all of her projects over a longer time span and with a focus on the process and research.
